Programme Description

The Computer Information Systems Associate of Arts Degree program is designed to meet the needs of persons who are desirous of pursuing a career in the field of computer information systems. It focuses on systems design and implementation, system support and administration, application development, cyber security, computer networks, database management and web design.

Programme Objectives

On completion of the Associate of Arts in Computer Information Systems program, students will be able to:

• Demonstrate the knowledge and skills in analysis and design of business information systems, database design and administration, application development, web design and computer network implementation and administration;
• Apply for professional careers in the rapidly changing field of computer information systems such as help desk technician, computer systems administrator, database administrator, web developer, network technician/administrator, IT manager, IT security technician, systems analyst, junior app developer;
• Demonstrate good communication skills, teamwork ability and leadership roles in their professional careers;
• Pursue a Bachelor Degree in Information Technology, Computer Information Systems or related field.
