Welcome to our Admissions Office
The Admissions Office of The Bahamas Baptist University College (BBUC) aims to recruit high school students who have completed grade 12 throughout The Bahamas. We also welcome mature students who wish to further their education.
The Admissions Office has responsibility for recruiting and processing applications for new freshmen, new transfer, transient and readmit students. Our philosophy is intertwined with that of the College’s in achieving and maintaining a standard of excellence at all times.
New applications are accepted and processed by the Admissions Office in the Fall Semester, Spring Semester and Summer Session of each school year.
All students must submit a completed application form together with the necessary items listed thereon including a completed BBUC medical form. A non-refundable application fee is required at the time of submission.
Placement Examination
This examination is administered each Semester and each Summer Session to facilitate applicants to the College who do not possess BCSE in English Language and/or Mathematics or equivalent to determine the level of English and/or Mathematics at which they will be placed. Persons who elect not to sit the examination will have to begin at the Pre-College Preparatory level.
BBCC considers its institution as a ‘second chance’ tertiary level college of choice especially for potential students who have not achieved the required successes with ‘C’ or above in five BGCSEs or GCEs including Mathematics and English. The examination fee is $75 for each however, if you have to sit both in the same examination period, you will receive a discounted total cost of $140.

Information for International Students
The BBUC caters to two types of international students:
- resident, non-Bahamian
- non-resident, non-Bahamian
While all applications are handled the same by BBUC, there are different requirements that we would like to make our future students aware of.
- The student will not be issued a Student Visa by the Bahamas Department of Immigration; instead you will apply, in both instances, for a Permit to reside via this link: Permit To Reside – Bahamas Immigration Department However, for resident, non-Bahamian prospective students, until age 22, if “sponsored” by a legal Bahamian resident, you can obtain this permit at a yearly fee of BSD$300.00 once you remain a full-time student or possessing 12 credits each semester.
- A non-resident, non-Bahamian prospect however, must present to Immigration, an Acceptance into the institution at the time of their application to be considered to enter The Bahamas, for the purpose of tertiary education. Amongst other requirements stipulated on Immigration’s website, you will have to pay the BSD$200 processing fee and the BSD$3,000.00 permit fee. Upon successful completion of your first year within BBUC as a full-time student, you will become eligible for a reduced permit fee of $300.00/yearly, until you complete your respective program/degree, pending you remain full-time.
