MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING

FOR

Partnership and Collaboration

Bahamas Educators, Counselors and Allied Workers Union (BECAWU)  and

Bahamas Baptist University College (BBUC)

Effective   November 11th. 2021

 

The collaboration between BBUC and BECAWU  creates opportunities for Teachers, Counselors and other categories of membership of the Union to pursue various courses, certificates or degrees ,” said Dr. Juliett Reid, BBUC President. “We are honored to have an association with Union that represents the best of the Professions Educators and Allied Workers.

BBUC is a tertiary level institution that is approved by the National Accreditation and Equivalency Council of The Bahamas (NAECOB) to offer bachelor’s degrees, Associate degrees, Diplomas and Certificates across the various academic disciplines of  Education,  Business, Natural Sciences Social Sciences and Computer Information Systems. The College continues to maintain a College Preparatory Programme as well, which is widely embraced by students who do not possess the full prerequisites to pursue college level studies.

“BBUC is honored and pleased to forge this agreement with Bahamas Educators, Counsellors and Allied Workers Union, and I commend Mrs. Sandra Major, President for her leadership and collaboration,” said Dr. Juliett Reid, President of the College “This innovative collaboration to empower Union Members  to earn a BBUC degree in several modalities is evidence of our commitment to partner with institutions of all types to meet the needs of all  wherever they may be.”   All classes are online instructor led and therefore reaches all Islands of  the Bahamas.

The Agreement involves  tuition discounts, registration fee discounts, scholarships, collaboration on  workshop/conferences, Staff development as well as other areas.

 BBUC has strong Educational Programs at the Bachelor Level and BBUC will assist the Union to identify regionally and  internationally accredited institutions that offer master’s doctoral degrees to meet the needs of the Union .
